WILDERNESS KENYA PAYROLL MANAGER

ANTHONY MAKAU

Anthony joined the Wilderness family in 2023. Responsible for our Kenya operations’ payroll function, he looks forward to aligning the business’ payroll and data processes.

Anthony’s childhood was spent in Nairobi. After school he attended KCA (Kenya College of Accountancy) University and graduated as a Certified Public Accountant.

After university, Anthony accepted a role as Finance Officer for Put Sarajevo General Engineering Co. based in Nairobi. He spent eight years with the company before accepting a new role at UBA Construction Ltd as Senior Accountant. Here he established the accounting and financial reporting system for the business.

Keen to further his career and experience, Anthony progressed to Senior Accountant for Sideways Tours Car Hire Limited. He spent seven years with the company and was promoted to Payroll Supervisor after three years. Anthony was recognised for identifying and rectifying loopholes in the company’s commission structures.

Highly motivated, during the course of his working career, Anthony went back to KCA University and obtained his Bachelor of Commerce Accounting degree.

Anthony looks forward to learning and growing within the Wilderness finance team, noting “I already feel at home with Wilderness. I respect the culture of transparency within the business and am excited to make my own positive contribution”.
