Wilderness HR Manager – Zambezi

Fungisai is an accomplished HR practitioner dedicated to shaping robust HR strategies and policies. With over 15 years of extensive experience in tourism, leisure and hospitality, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role.

Born in Harare and raised in Gweru, Fungisai obtained her BSc Honours degree in Human Resources Management in 2004 from Midlands State University in Zimbabwe.

Her career trajectory began at the Africa Albida Tourism Group in 2005, subsequently leading her to various HR roles in the United Arab Emirates, managing diverse workforces across different nationalities.

Transitioning into her new role in the Wilderness Zambezi team in 2023 marked a new chapter, and Fungisai is thrilled to be back on African soil, able to contribute her skills to this vibrant region, where her duties and focus areas will include developing an HR strategy in support of the overall business plan, establishing HR policies, ensuring legal compliance, enhancing employee relations and recruitment, as well as talent management, and the training and development of all staff.

Fungisai’s passions extend beyond HR, encompassing interests in travel, hobbies like archery, reading and voluntary work. For her, Wilderness stands out due to its people – passionate about conservation, community and hospitality – a perfect personal alignment to her own values.
