Alex Henderson, Wilderness Air Group Flight Operations, recently attended the launch of fastjet’s Victoria Falls – Maun flight route, and was proud to see Captain Donald Kawara and Anesu Musakwa flying the inaugural flight. Both started their flying careers with Wilderness Air (WA) and have progressed to fastjet.
This is Donald’s inspiring story:
Donald started his flying career with Wilderness Air (Sefofane) in March 2010 with a private pilot licence. WA helped him gain invaluable flying experience, on dead legs and maintenance flights to Maun, and he obtained his commercial pilot license in June 2010. Donald grew with WA from there, flying the C206 to the C208, and was promoted to Chief Pilot in 2012. He held this position for three years, as well as being a Line Trainer.
Donald is now the Chief Pilot of fastjet, and WA is extremely proud to have been at the beginning of his impressive career.
Donald says, “WA gave me a solid foundation, which saw me progressing to Chief Pilot of Zimbabwe’s award-winning regional carrier fastjet. It was indeed a great honour and pleasure to operate on the inaugural Victoria Falls – Maun route for fastjet, a route I have flown so many times for Wilderness Air”.
