From Malora’s Desk
We have raced through the month of love, in a way that feels like speed dating. In fact, the last two years may have felt like a really bad date for some! This month I’d like to highlight the importance of self-appreciation and self-gratitude. Many people may be feeling like they are running on empty, struggling to support and care for those around them, with no energy reserves left for themselves.
Liking yourself sets the foundation for other relationships. It’s important not to see self-appreciation as arrogance, but rather embracing your own happiness and wellbeing. A recent research study* suggests that many people are feeling inauthentic, having been forced to change their social engagements due to the prolonged restrictions COVID placed on our lives. As individuals, we can maintain our self-authenticity through challenging times by focusing on the here-and-now, rather than the past or future.
Practicing self-appreciation is free, takes little time and can easily become part of your daily routine. Some ideas to get you started:

In this month of love – consider making yourself the priority!
