PRESHIMA NAIDOO
Head of Product
Preshima Naidoo has been a part of the Wilderness family for 15 years. Her dedication to learning, and passion for people and travelling, make her a valued Wilderness ambassador.
Highly talented Preshima progressed to Head of Product in 2022. Now responsible for the Wilderness Product and Associated Product teams, her goal is to create synergy and align product processes across the business.
Preshima spent her childhood in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Her love for the outdoors and travel began at an early age, when she joined Girl Guides South Africa. Fond memories of her time spent at Girl Guides include camping trips, putting up army tents and building fires, and most importantly, learning to appreciate and respect the outdoors. After school Presh attended ICESA College, where she graduated with a Travel and Tourism diploma.
Presh’s working life began in 2001 at Thompsons Tours Durban, starting out in Operations, growing to Senior US consultant and then Assistant Reservations Manager for the US Department. Motivated to expand her horizons, Presh moved to Johannesburg and began her Wilderness journey in 2007 as a Senior Virtuoso Consultant, working on the Cox & Kings account. Returning from maternity leave in 2009, Presh was promoted to EUK Product Specialist, and in 2012 the role evolved into Product Buyer. Following her success within the Wilderness Product team, Presh was subsequently promoted to Associated Product Manager, and most recently Head of Wilderness Associated Product, responsible for the company’s third-party supplier contracts, building supplier relationships and global product training.
Presh has grown professionally and personally within her career at Wilderness, and learnt many lessons along the way. “Don’t allow limiting beliefs to set the tone or pace of what your life has to offer. Push through those barriers – there is growth in the things which scare us”, she advises. Presh counts herself fortunate to have visited Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique. Each destination is unique and beautiful, but personally, Namibia holds a special place in her heart.
Eager to learn and extend herself, Presh’s goal is to complete her Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice, and then an MBA, depending on what life has in store! Her passion for wellness has led to her qualifying as a weight loss consultant and yoga instructor who thrives on guiding people along their health journey.
Presh values the Wilderness people, its culture and drive towards global impact. “I get to work alongside incredibly talented, dedicated and passionate individuals in our Product team, who have 96 years of collective experience at Wilderness”, concludes Presh with pride.
